Seatbelt adjuster

Looks like someone already though of this gadget. It basically improves the feeling of wearing seatbelt. By the way, do you wear it ? Or the legislation in your country makes it indispensable ? :)
You should wear it, you never know what might happen.

Now, back to this little car gadget.

The system is simple: it stops the seatbelt From rubbing against your neck. Pretty neet, huh ? Although i don't know if it can please the non-wearing drivers. Once you get used not to wear the seatbelt, there is a small chance to wear it again. Unless your wife asks you to :)

Concept gym car

Da Feng, a graduate of the British Faculty, created the concept Gym Car. It is powered by an electric motor that takes energy from one set of lithium-ion batteries. What is really unique is the way the batteries are loaded.

The driver must make physical exercises in order to generate enough energy to recharge the batteries. The designer has been able to combine a range of fitness equipment in the vehicle. It includes a stepper, a rowing machine, a device for pushing the chest and even a simulation of traction.
This gym on wheels uses only the steering wheel, pedals and seat as an apparatus and the mechanical energy generated by their movement is converted into electricity to recharge the batteries thus propelling the vehicle. The model's exterior has common features with both Formula 1 car and the fighter airplanes.

It is unclear if you can exercise while driving, or if you need to recharge the batteries while standing and then drive. The designer did not give many details of his project, which is probably just a design exercise.

Electronic assistant ?

Starting from the idea of title, an Israeli company has developed a complete system that helps the driver and prevents him from being careless.
It can even take control of the car if its driver does not react to alarm signals.

Equipment is out of the test phase and will be available next year.

Any driver knows that a second of inattention can cost a life. That is why Israeli inventors found a solution that "to fix" human imperfections.
The camera "reads" the immediate environment surrounding. The image reaches a processor that continuously evaluates the risk and displays on a screen all potential "barriers" and the distance to each other.

The system makes the difference between cars and pedestrians at a distance of 35 meters and emits a high sound within a few seconds before a possible collision. The driver has the possibility to avoid the accident. If he does not react immediately, the electronic assistant can order the car to brake.

The system will be launched next year and the price is not even that high: about $ 1,000.

Deadly race

Not so deadly actually :)
Use mouse for steering, collect armor and shoot bad guys. hf

Travel pillow

I don't know if you use your car for driving to work and back home, or going camping, or.. if you are a driver, like long distance driving. If you are, you must know about travel pillows.
I see a dozen of manufacturers, all bragging about how warm and fuzzy and neck tension releasing their pillows are. And i believe them. Occasionally i drive for 3, 4 hours and my neck hurts, and my ass also :) Most new cars have already implemented this kind of car gadget, hours and hours of testing really paid off in some cases.
Bon voyage !

Parking sensors

Interesting, but not surprisingly, 60% of buyers are women.
The most cautious drivers choose a system with four sensors and display in the rear view mirror. The only systems that ensure a carefree parking have more than three sensors, otherwise the car's back is not completely covered. Easy to install, no need to replace rear-view mirror and have a minimum limit of detection distance of 30 cm. A number of aftermarket products are especially attractive to those who value convenience and comfort.
Hmm, i don't have parking sensors on my car and i don't want to install them either. But if i imagine myself when i started driving, back then i would of really appreciated some sensors to make my parking perfect. Come to think of it, i hit another car in the parking lot one night, because my windows were smoky due to temperature. So, a small investment can go a long way.

Real batmobile ? w00t

I came across an article slightly related to the blog, but it's something i have to share with you :)
Can you believe this is Lincoln Continental from 1973?

It has been modified to look like a batmobile by a rich swedish car fan.
I have to say it looks really cool, even real (if i can call something from the movies real). Oh, i forgot to say it took over 3 years to build, and the total cost is around 1 milion $ .

Below you can see a little video with the car.

Portable GPS locator

This gadget is one of the easiest GPS portable tracker, suitable for finding the car in parking lots or in crowded places.

Simply press a button to mark the current location and the GPS Locator can bring you back any time. Compared to other GPS, which are complex and large, this is small (approximately as a key chain) and only 2 buttons: one for on / off and one for setting the location and the other 2 destinations.

This gadget uses an advanced GPS receiver that has great accuracy with a maximum error of about 5 meters. Automatically calculates the distance (in different units of measure: feet, yards, miles or kilometers). As you get close to the destination it automatically calibrates the compass that appears on the screen and indicates the direction of the chosen site.

It is waterproof and it works with 2 AAA batteries that provide autonomy up to 20 hours.

Speed shot

Drive the car but try to avoid things on the road.

Anti sleep - SmartCap

A significant proportion of road tragedies are due to fatigue. Some drivers, desperate to reach their destination as quickly as possible, forget to take brakes for resting and keep on driving. For them, there is a gadget designed to prevent accidents. It is a hi-tech cap (SmartCap), equipped with sensors to monitor the brain. When it detects a specific activity of fatigue, the processor sends signals to a display terminal, which will alert the driver.

Of course, the driver may ignore the alerts, considering that they are wrong and that he knows best when to pull over. In addition, the cap does not fight unconsciousness or lack of skill at the wheel.

Originally SmartCap was used by truck drivers in mining (CRCMining, Australia), but the encouraging results have prompted the company to provide this technology to all. I am convinced that such a product would be really useful for all drivers, but after some improvements.

Street rally

Race around the city in tiny monster trucks. Use arrow keys and P for pause. HF :)

Car games

I hope you appreciate the idea of having some little entertaining car games here on the blog.
I want to apologize in advance for the following situation : there may be times when i will post 2 or 3 games per site. If you guys have the sound on, this may not be nice, as the loading sounds of these games can be really annoying.
The best thing you can do is click on the title and play the game without any more background noise.

GPS

It's been so long since i decided to write again.. if i remember that times, I'm not sure the car GPS was a valuable piece of the car. But nowadays it surely is.
I can comment on hundreds of GPS models, manufacturers, special functions, shapes, sizes, you name it :) The best thing about this car gadget is that you cannot get lost. Sounds pretty good doesn't it ?
Let me share you a little story about a friend of mine who came into town. He had his driving license for 2 years, but he never got out of his home city. One day he decided to come visit me. I wanted to explain to him how to get here, but he told me very directly : "just tell me the exact address, my GPS will show me the way". And it did :)
Come to think of it, this is for both experienced or inexperienced drivers. If you need an address, direction, that inside safety for not making right when you should of went forward, this is a car gadget you can count on.

Hit the road

Simple but entertaining game. You just have to help the people cross the street :)
Click once to get him going, twice to stop. You also can adjust the traffic lights.
Have fun !

Headrest monitor

I was curious about this myself because I've only seen it in pictures/videos. This car gadget offers pleasure more to the passengers than the driver itself.
They vary in shapes and sizes. If you choose the 5 or the 10 inch LCD headrest monitor I'm sure you will enjoy the ride.
Looking on different websites i can also tell you that they fit most car brands and models, they have built-in DVD players, the sound is transmitted infrared to wireless headphones and some even swivel for improving the viewing angle, making movie watching a thrilling experience.
I guess it's good for kids too, they are always full of energy on long rides, maybe some cartoons can quiet them a little.

Car gadgets

When you hear “gadgets” where does your mind go? Inventions maybe, crazy contraptions… the synonyms may vary but we all have to agree that we love them.
Now I want to say something about car gadgets. Probably the car manufacturers didn’t realize, but if we look back in the past, they have created some car gadgets themselves. Let’s take the radio for example. A long time ago, radios were not included in the car, they were purchased separately. If we take a leap to the present days, an ordinary car has at least cd/mp3 player, with complex stereo system. This may be a car gadget itself.
Over the years, people invented car gadgets to change the way we feel when driving, to give us a plus regarding this wonderful experience. Today we have abs, esp, airbags, I’m curious how cars will be 10 years from now. Dare I start talking about the new auxiliary energy breakthroughs ? It’s all amazing I tell you.
Like all other markets, car gadgets evolved. Let’s take the mobile phone. Smart people said : why not equip the car with a phone ? Smarter people said : Hmm, this may be somewhat dangerous. With small paces the car phone evolved to the mobile phone, next to handsfree car kit. They nowadays maybe using Bluetooth technology. I can use the same example with videos. Now we have LCD panels in our cars, or even mini TVs.
GPS, fancy key starters, radar detectors, these all are car gadgets. They will evolve and evolve and surely our lives behind the wheel will improve.
I don’t know if you own a car or you are thinking of buying one, but I’m pretty much sure you like this technology as much as I do. The best thing about all this is constant evolution. There’s like a hidden system working for us, trying to transform good into better.
Thanks to the smart and ingenious people and technicians we are stepping intro the future every day, being useful and why not trendy.

A nice car racing game.
